Intelligent weapon detection system B2scan WMD500

“Intelligent” is the key distinguishing feature of this arch metal detector compared to similar devices of previous generations. The metal detector operates using “Intelligent Metal Classification” technology. Thanks to this technology, the detector can identify personal metal items (such as keys, phones, or belts) and display them without triggering an alarm, while simultaneously detecting, classifying, and alerting only on prohibited metal objects.

The intelligent arch metal detector consists of a patented metal detection and classification system, a built-in video camera, an edge computing unit with artificial intelligence technologies, a tablet with a monitor, and a cloud-based control platform.

Screening speed is 1–2 people per second. The display on the side panel shows the message “Clear” if no threat is detected, or “Object Detected” if a suspicious item is found, along with the exact location of the detected object.

The intelligent walk-through metal detector B2scan WMD500, developed in collaboration with Huaton Technology Co., is a revolutionary system for detecting dangerous metal objects. It is designed for the rapid inspection of visitors, including those with backpacks, wallets, bags, etc., in order to detect various prohibited metal objects such as knives, firearms, etc.

  • Detected prohibited metal items are automatically identified and classified into categories. Information about the object’s material and shape is displayed on the side panel screen and/or transmitted to the cloud-based control platform.
  • The user can customize security settings according to specific needs. Three sensitivity levels are available. The default setting detects firearms and knives with blades longer than 5 cm, while ignoring common personal items such as mobile phones, keys, and other small metallic objects. Increasing sensitivity improves detection but may increase false alarms on small items. At the highest level, the false alarm rate does not exceed 5%.
  • Equipped with 25 detection zones, the metal detector identifies not only the detection zone but also the precise location of concealed objects — front or back, inner thighs, footwear, and other body areas.
  • Alarms are indicated via audio and visual alerts. The side panel display shows both graphical and text information about the shape, material, and location of the suspicious object.
  • Quick parameter adjustment with a single button. An LCD touchscreen enables fast and intuitive configuration.
  • Real-time viewing of video and detection data overlaid on a human silhouette, including detection zone, material and shape of suspicious objects, snapshot at the moment of passage, as well as passage and alarm counters.
  • The system includes an integrated edge computing unit that handles alarm data collection and storage, photo and video recording, AI-based analytics, and communication with tablets and cloud platforms.
  • Alarm data is transmitted in real time to the Security Operations Center, mobile or tablet app, web browser, video surveillance system, or access control system. Integration with third-party software is supported.
  • Additional devices can be connected to the metal detector, such as thermal (IR) temperature cameras, IP surveillance cameras, facial recognition systems, and other peripheral devices.
  • The metal detector supports secure, stable connectivity with the cloud-based control platform for remote monitoring and management.
  • The edge computing unit transmits alarm data to the cloud, where advanced analytics are performed. This helps systematize the weapon detection process and enables integration with third parties via API for data sharing and extended functionality.
